Gaze target annotation

Thank you for taking part! In this study you will look at … images of small groups of people. In each image, colored bounding boxes mark individual people, and a colored rectangle points at what an AI model believes each person is looking at (their gaze target). Your job is to judge, for each person, whether that gaze target is correct. Total time: about 25 minutes.

The question

Is each person's gaze target correctly marked?

For every colored box in an image you will pick one of three options:

Correct — the marked target matches where the person is actually looking.
Incorrect — the marked target does not match where the person is looking.
Unsure — you cannot tell (face is hidden, target is ambiguous, etc.).

Every color starts at Correct. Change only the ones you disagree with.

Two examples

Example 1 — everyone marked correctly

Example where every gaze target is correctly marked

All four colors (red, orange, green, blue) point at the correct target person, so every color's answer would be Correct.

Example 2 — one color is wrong

Example where the green player's gaze target is wrong

Orange and blue are marked correctly, but green (Player 2) is actually looking at the camera — not at Player 3 (blue). So green would be answered Incorrect, while orange and blue stay at Correct.

How your work is saved

Answers save automatically after every image. If you accidentally close the tab and reopen the same link in the same browser, your progress will resume. We do not collect your name — you are recorded only by an anonymous session ID.
